In 1945 the Berlin-based company was founded by its namesake Otto Niemann. Today Stefan Lehmann leads as Managing Partner and CEO the Otto Niemann Feinmechanik GmbH and continues the family tradition in the third generation.
Originally, the company produced microscopes aditionally to the current core business, the production of iris diaphragms. Due to the complexity of the core business, the company Otto Niemann focused on the steady expansion and improvement of the product range iris diaphragms.

Das in Berlin ansässige Unternehmen wurde im Jahr 1945 vom Namensgeber Otto Niemann gegründet. Heute führt Stefan Lehmann als geschäftsführender Gesellschafter der Otto Niemann Feinmechanik GmbH die Familientradition in der dritten Generation fort.
Ursprünglich stellte die Firma neben dem heutigen Kerngeschäft der Produktion von Irisblenden auch Mikroskope her. Aufgrund der Komplexität des Kerngeschäfts konzentrierte sich die Firma Otto Niemann auf die kontinuierliche Ausweitung und Verbesserung der Produktpalette im Bereich Irisblenden.
